Elise had a peds appointment in the morning, so Jon got to handle the big kids. Elise and I did some Reading Eggs. She is still really struggling with letter names and sounds. Something to keep working on!
Seth opted to use his attitude points and skip school. So that was that.
Jon did Khan with Aaron & Catherine. Both really struggled with their subjects, but it was all over when I got home.
We read two chapters out of Astrophysics for Young People, one about light, one about our solar system. Really cool stuff. We especially liked the moon Europa, with the surface of ice, but warm water underneath.
At lunch we watched a Mark Rober on Arcade Scam Science, Extra History on a diamond necklace and Marie Antoinette, Minute Physics on Schrodinger's Cat, a TedEd on tardigrades, and a hilarious description of 2020 using nothing but LOTR movie clips.
We also had our poetry time today with Knoxes. The kids all picked Silverstein or Prelutsky. Gabe read a TS Eliot Cats poem, and I read Casey at the Bat. They were all enthralled, which was a surprise. Then they spent the next couple of hours playing together outside.
