We read more out of Little House in the Big Woods. I ordered some maple sugar candy and real maple syrup for us to try.
Everyone has been working on finishing Khan for their math. By the end of the month Seth has to be at 90% and Aaron & Catherine have to be at 40% (I didn't have them doing Khan consistently until now). Seth is really close, but both of the others have 8-10% to finish next week, so we shall see.
They all worked on their end of the block projects. Seth was working on his Roblox inventory. He and Jon looked at it together and got some things figured out. Catherine made a cute little presentation about evergreen trees and pinecones. It was actually really fascinating! And all her own research and ideas. Aaron wrote a book about an upside down village and illustrated it. Elise wrote a poem for Jon which was totally adorable. Another successful round of projects!
For art they all decorated their Valentine's boxes and wrote out Valentines for friends. There's also been much playdough and Perler bead art happening recently.
Fun random things they've been working on: Aaron wanted to make paper again, so we shredded a BUNCH of paper, then pressed it and let it dry. Now he has a huge, hard piece of blue paper (more like cardboard). Catherine also spent an entire morning putting tiny clips and pieces of tape on a balloon string in an attempt to get it to levitate. She was successful, and was fascinated that it still would move up and down depending on temperature and airflow. She also played Azul with me & Jon and managed to beat me!
Seth had his book club and is still working on The Girl Who Drank the Moon. He had to look up all the names of the characters and find what they meant and how they applied to that character. I was surprised at his ability to make connections. He also made brownies and heart attacked a lady in the ward for a Deacon's quorum activity.
Also lots of sledding and snow play! It was a good week to have off of school.
