Back to school schedule! We're taking kind of a lighter load because all the kids have to hit their Khan goal by the end of February. Seth will be fine (he's at 88%, has to get to 90%), but Catherine & Aaron will both have to work pretty hard to get to 40%. So we're trimming back things like writing just for this week.
Started with Ch. 36-37 of SOTW. Abolitionists and Africa. They were fascinated by Shaka Zulu's story. Need to find the Extra History about him.
Then it was mostly math. Seth is getting some nasty rates and ratios problems again, so he's got to struggle through those (I hate them as well). Catherine is working on division and Aaron is working on time problems.
Seth read History of Medicine Ch. 6 about microscopes. Also watched a Youtube video about music. Catherine is still playing piano and has also been picking out songs on her new kalimba. Aaron is struggling with his piano. But it's a good challenge for his brain so we keep going!
At lunch we watched a Mark Rober on rock skipping machines, plus finished Simon Bolivar. Most of the kids had lost interest by the end. Oh well.
