It was cold but sunny this morning, so we tried to read our SOTW outside. Unfortunately Elijah was super whiny so we had to finish inside. But the kids did get to play with sleds for a bit! We read Ch. 35, about Hidalgo, Agustin, and Santa Anna. Mexican Independence.
Everyone did some Khan today for math. I want them all to finish their grade levels by June. Seth is at 88% in prealgebra. Catherine is at 26% for 4th, Aaron is 28% for 3rd. I haven't really been pushing them, but I think it's probably a good thing for them to have that foundation.
Seth showed me his project, which his Roblox Inventory. I'm still totally lost as to how he does the coding, but I did give him some advice on some visual edits. He's also really great at asking for help on the forums, which is awesome.
He's still struggling with his Spanish. I think we'll go back to where the -ar verbs started and do a review. Those conjugations are just tricky for him. Better to stop right now than to keep pushing him.
Catherine made a poster board in preparation for her presentation on Friday. Aaron added to his story. Hopefully everything comes together nicely, even if it is just our family again. Stupid Covid and cold weather, ruining everything.
At lunch we watched a Mark Rober on pee in pools, which was terrifying. Also another episode of Extra History on Simon Bolivar. Seth also watched a video about music in Ancient Greece and read Ch. 5 from his History of Medicine book (about the circulatory system).
Everyone is still reading the same books. Aaron is really into the Human Body books, which is fun.
Seth taught our FHE lesson on gratitude and encouraged us to be more generous in our donating. Totally his idea. Then they all played Mario Kart for the activity.
