Wednesday 1-6-2021

We're all getting a little tired of being stuck inside from both quarantine and nasty weather. Looking forward to the weekend.

Today we started reading the Great Illustrated Classics version of The Count of Monte Cristo. They all seemed very interested in the story. Catherine even caught on to the phrase "ex-emperor" when they mentioned Napoleon. We'd just read about him becoming emperor in SOTW.

It was Catherine day, so we did her math workbook together (she hasn't asked for that in a while). She started at the very beginning of 4th grade, so it was pretty easy for her. But sometimes it's good to have easy things to make you realize how far you've come.

Seth spent a lot of time working on his Khan and was in tears because he didn't make any progress on her percent (his goal is to get to 80%). I told him to take a break and try again another day. Any progress is great, even if it didn't show up as a number.

Aaron did Math Facts Pro. I just moved him from addition (which he had almost entirely memorized) to multiplication. We'll see how he does with that.

They each added to their writing a bit. Seth edited his, Aaron added to his, and Catherine and I worked together on hers. She doesn't like periods or paragraphs, but will laugh when I try to read her writing without them.

Aaron read Nate the Great, Catherine's still working on the Lightning Thief, and Seth is in the 5th Harry Potter. Seth also had his book club with Bente. They're reading The White Indian.

Catherine had her piano lesson and is starting to work on some church songs. She finally decided it was time to put the Christmas music away.

Seth started tutoring Aaron in Roblox Studio. Aaron loves it, but is also easily frustrated.

With the terrible weather, I forced everyone to either do Just Dance with me, or run a mile on the elliptical. The boys opted to run, the girls danced.
