 9-21-20

Realized I've never written down what we do for our morning time. Each kid takes a turn making breakfast. While we're eating we start with reading some scriptures or church magazines. Then we have a song or poem we memorize together (currently a long one about the parts of speech). Then a Spanish song/book/podcast. Each kid has either a poem or scripture they're currently memorizing. We repeat those, then they each review something they memorized previously to keep them fresh. Finally, geography. We currently are using blank maps of various continents that they try to fill in as much as possible. Then it's time for morning jobs, followed by reading aloud.

We read a chapter out of SOTW (about Taj Mahal).

For math, Seth worked on the 4s problem from YouCubed. He had a pretty simple and clever solution almost immediately. Jon had him try to find another option. Catherine played Krypto again. Aaron worked on Math Facts Pro. Elise and I played a game with dominoes. She's getting really good at one to one correspondence.

We watched some videos on refining gold together for Aaron's project. Seth is constantly working on various Roblox games and showing me his newest additions. His latest one is a bunch of soldiers killing each other. Typical.

At lunch we watched a Magic School Bus about light, then finished the fractal documentary. They talked about how they're hoping to use fractals to find cancer cells, which was really interesting to the kids due to my mom's cancer.

That evening we did Catherine's chocolate survey together. We were all a little nauseous from so much chocolate by the end, but it will be fun to see how the data comes out!
