Aaron's birthday! He got a day off school and basically unlimited iPad time. He was quite thrilled.
We started Girls Who Looked Under Rocks for reading. Had some good discussions about why women weren't allowed to do things/learn things and why it was wrong. Catherine was lighting up as I read, especially if there were insects involved.
Catherine day. She was kind of a mess, so it was a struggle. Math was playing Krypto, but she got frustrated and quit early. We finalized her chocolate list for her survey. Did a lesson of AAS. Breaking words into syllables to spell has helped her a lot.
She cried during her piano lesson, but she does that every week. She doesn't like being told what to do. But the next day she'll be at the piano grinding through the song on her own.
She also helped make icing and decorate Aaron's cake. I need to do some cake decorating with her.
We all went to KYA for gymnastics. Everyone had a great time and tried new things. Aaron made it across the rings. Catherine did a backflip in the swing. Seth made it farther up the warped wall. Elise jumped over more foam blocks.
Seth did Bunsen burner dinners with the deacons that evening. We celebrated Aaron with a campfire and his cherry chip cake.
