Crazy day. We had our Friday Fun at Tydings Park. We listened to Amos Fortune while we drove.
The kids played on the playground, then we learned about Nzinga and Angola. We talked about adinkra stamping and looked at some of the symbols and what they meant. The kids painted some on a tablecloth and designed some of their own. I read an African folktale called The King and the Ring while they painted.
After lunch we walked the boardwalk along the bay and enjoyed some ice cream at the restaurant by the docks.
We finished Amos Fortune while we were waiting (forever) for grocery pickup. Started Stella by Starlight. Discussed the KKK and what they did.
Enjoyed a lovely, wet camping trip at Elk Neck. We hiked to Turkey Point lighthouse and played at the beach. Got to watch a yacht race in the distance. Wish we had stayed another day.
