Our last day in Utah we managed to sneak in one more field trip--this time to Hogle Zoo, courtesy of Grandma Cathy (thank you!).
Checking out the gorillas
Riding the rhino statue
Seth insisted on taking my camera so he could take this picture of a diver cleaning the otter tank.
Riding the carousel
The whole (hot & tired group) leaving the zoo.
Seth isn't a huge animal lover, but there were some pretty great things that attracted his interest. He got to see the polar bear swimming around, the tiger strutting on a cliff, and (his favorite part) a display of various animal skeletons. Guess I should look into visiting a zoo a little closer to home!
I love how you put all these activities on your homeschool blog- you would have done them anyway, but as a homeschooler you're sensitive to learning opportunities that others may miss, especially that one with the culvert and the ditch and the construction equipment. People who question a decision to homeschool don't realize how much teaching/learning happens in the regular course of life, and how much of it they're doing themselves for their kids.
ReplyDeleteThe gym you found for Seth sounds awesome, too!
