- Hand turkeys
- paint child's palm and thumb brown, paint fingers red, orange & yellow
- press on paper
- draw on a turkey face
- Thanksgiving Baskets
- in each basket, put the following:
- twist pretzels (praying arms)--to remind us that the Pilgrims came for religious freedom
- saltines--the Pilgrims didn't have much to eat sometimes
- stick pretzels--the Pilgrims made logs to build their homes
- mini marshmallows--reminds us of the snow the first winter when many Pilgrims died
- candy corn--the Indians showed the Pilgrims how to grow corn
- craisins--the Indians showed the Pilgrims where to find berried
- life savers--the Indians saved the Pilgrims by teaching them how to grow food
- Thankful Tree
- make a big poster of a tree
- trace your child's hand several times (and yours, too) and cut them out
- write or draw the things you're grateful for and put them on the tree
- Write letters or draw pictures for people you love, telling them why you're grateful for them
- Use a waffle cone as a cornucopia. Fill with treats, berries & marshmallows.
